Ethel Vigil was a daughter of noted potter Mida Tafoya and a granddaughter of Christina Naranjo. She began making pottery since 1975. This tall shoulder jar is coil-built. It is carved with a complex series of cloud, rain, and lighting patterns. They encompass most of the surface of the jar. The jar is highly polished and fired red. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Ethel Vigil”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
