Robert Vigil learned to make pottery from Lonnie Vigil and Virginia Gutierrez.  Each piece is coil made with micaceous clay and micaceous clay slipped.  This piece was traditionally fired to create the coloration.  The jar is oval in shape and has a double sharp shoulder.  There are striking color variations from the firing.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Robert Vigil, Nambe”.
