Robert Vigil learned to make pottery from Lonnie Vigil and Virginia Gutierrez.  Each piece is coiled with micaceous clay and micaceous clay slipped.  This piece was traditionally fired to create the fire-cloud coloration.  The bowl is oval in shape and has a sharp point on each end.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Robert Vigil, Nambe”.
