$ 1,200.00

Shayetsa White Dove (b. 1956) began making pottery in 1984.  She learned to make pottery from her grandmother, Connie O. Cerno.  Her focus has long been on historic Acoma designs.  The jar is coil-built and thin-walled.  It is painted with bee-weed (black) and three different colors of clay slips.  The jar has large Acoma birds or parrots above and below the shoulder.  They are separated by a flowing rainbow.  Next to the birds are plant and flower designs.  The jar was traditionally fired, creating slight color variations on the surface of the piece.  It is signed on the bottom, “Shayetsa White Dove”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
