William Yazzie (Navajo) is known for his detailed pottery designs.  He is a brother-in-law to noted potter Bob Lansing.  Williams taught Bob the techniques of etching and painting pottery.  This jar has a low shoulder and a short neck.  The rim of the jar has etched feathers.  Around the side of the jar are two etched owls.  They are separated by geometric wing and feather patterns.  The jar is striking in color and design.  The designs are highlighted with various colors.  It is signed on the bottom, “William Yazzie”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
