William Yazzie (Navajo) is known for his detailed pottery designs.  He is a brother-in-law to noted potter Bob Lansing.  Williams taught Bob the techniques of etching and painting pottery.  This wide jar has etched hummingbirds on one side.  The remainder of the top of the jar has tightly etched feathers. The shoulder of the jar is painted with a feather design.  All the designs are highlighted in various colors.  It is signed on the bottom, “William Yazzie”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
