This is an amazing miniature by Santa Clara potter Nancy Youngblood. This is one of her “micro-minis” and it is coil-built and deeply carved. The bowl is oval in shape and the interior is fully polished. The handles are slipped with mica.  However, it is the exterior of the bowl that are Nancy’s signature style with six “s” swirl melon ribs on each side.  They are deeply carved into the clay and each is highly polished. The bowl was fired a glassy black coloration.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Nancy Youngblood.”
