Ethel Youvella (1919-2006) was a niece of noted potter Grace Chapella. This jar is made from red Hopi clay.  It is stone polished and painted with bee-weed (black).  The jar has an eagle on each side.  It was traditionally fired.  It is signed, “Ethel Youvella” on the bottom.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
