Rosita Cata was known for her traditional incised pottery. This plate is both incised and painted. The back of the plate is polished red.  The front is incised with a rainbow and cloud design.  The white areas are incised into the clay and then painted.  The red is painted onto the matte tan areas.  It is a striking and complex design.  The plate is signed on the back in the clay, “Rosita Cata”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
