This is a charming seedpot by Joseph Lonewolf from 1988.  It has a large, realistic gopher on one side, chewing on a piece of grass, under the flowers.  Below are the tracking leading underground to it’s burrow.  What’s hard to tell about this piece is that the grass in front and behind the gopher is actually raised higher, more in relief.  The opposite side has a realistic rabbit, on the lookout while the gopher is relaxing!  The background is a very unusual green color, which is striking against the red polished clay.  Near the base is a realistic butterfly.  Lonewolf writes, “the butterflies denote beauty in simplicity”.  There is the yearly symbol for 1988, which is a bear paw.  It is is signed on the bottom in the clay.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
