This is an intricately designed new water jar by Jennifer Tafoya.  She is known for her clay vessels and also her amazing animal figures!  This piece is fully polished and fully designed.  The jar has a large Tyrannosaurus Rex that has encountered two Triceratops.  Jennifer has long been interested in dinosaurs and we have even hand two shows with them as the theme!  First, take a look at the Tyrannosaurus.  The detail on the scales and teeth is exceptional.  The two Triceratops show their reaction to the Tyrannosaurus!  Scan in on the detail of the scales.  WOW!  The detail in the plants and trees in the background is of the same realism as the dinosaurs themselves!  Around the bottom of the jar is a water design.  Jennifer continues to not just be creative in design but in technique.  All the various colors are derived from natural clay slips.  Jennifer continues to be one of the leading innovative potters working today!  The piece is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Jennifer Tafoya”.
