Emily Tafoya was the wife of noted potter Ray Tafoya and is the mother of Jennifer Tafoya.  Each piece is coil-built, stone polished, traditionally outdoors fired, and then etched with designs.  This seedpot has an oval shape.  There are two lizards etched into the clay.  On the side is a Mimbres bee.  The remainder are cloud, rain, and water designs.  The entire piece is fully designed and then highlighted with additional clay slips for more coloration.  It is signed on the bottom, Emily Tafoya.
