Jeff Suina works in clay and multi-media.  Each piece is made from native clay and painted with mineral clays for the design.  The jar was traditionally fired to create the smoke clouds on the surface.  The jar has traditional Cochiti designs on each of the various facets.  It is a creative balance of traditional designs, clay, and firing with a modernist approach to form.  Exceptional!   The contrasting positive and negative spaces are visually striking to the eye.  The piece is signed, “Jeff Suina”.
