This is a creative jar by Johnathan Naranjo.  The jar has a round body and it is both sculpted and polished.  There is a woman sculpted into the clay, and the polished area of the jar has become her shawl!  The sculpted area is matte and note the beauty in the face and the flowing hair!  The jar itself is very highly polished. The jar has a piece of pottery she is carrying on her head. The water jar has a lightly etched water serpent as the design.  The two pieces are held together by a wooden rod.  Both are fired to a dark brownish coloration that is visually striking.   It is signed on the bottom, “Johnathan Naranjo 2016”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
