Blue Corn – Polychrome Jar with Rain and Mountains (1970s)

5.5"w x 3.25"h

$ 875.00

Blue Corn was one of the great innovative San Ildefonso potters of the late 1900s.  This jar is coil-built, and the gray surface is fully polished.  It is painted with a band of rain clouds around the neck and mountains around the shoulder.  They create a lightning pattern in the negative space.  The jar was traditionally fired so there are very slight color variations on the surface.  The jar is signed on the bottom, “Blue Corn”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
