Thomas Tenorio is from the Aguilar family of Kewa Pueblo. Amazingly, he taught himself to make pottery! This is a classic water jar with a round body and an elongated neck. The jar has flowers around the side and flower petals around the neck. The jar is striking in appearance with the contrasting red and black coloration against the white clay slip. The piece is signed, “Thomas Tenorio”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
