3.5"w x 3"h
$ 875.00
This is an early jar by Iris Nampeyo. Iris began using the corn in relief on the surface of her pottery in the early 1980’s. The corn is symbolic of being part of the Corn Clan. The jar has a classic shape with a short neck. The entire piece is fully polished and the corn on the top is in relief. The corn kernels are incised and the ear of corn is matte but in high relief on the seedpot. The remainder is fully polished. It is signed on the bottom, ‘Iris Nampeyo”. It is excellent with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
