Kevin Naranjo is known for his realistic etched pottery. This jar has a wide shape and was made and polished by Marian Rose Naranjo. It was traditionally fired black and then etched with design by Kevin. There is a single avanyu medallion in one area. The remainder of the jar has realistic antelope on the plains. There are rain clouds in the sky. The bottom has Mimbres-style antelope etched into the clay. The bowlw as then two-toned sienna after the etching. It is signed, “Kevin Naranjo and Marian Rose. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.

Marian Rose Naranjo is a sister of noted potter Paul Naranjo and an aunt of Luciano Naranjo. In the 1970's she worked with Ernest Naranjo and they signed their work together. In the 1990's she made pottery for Kevin Naranjo and they signed their work together.
