The back is also polished. The head has a cloud design, and the back has sand and mountain patterns. All the various colors are derived from natural clay slips. The head is sculpted and the back has etched water and sand designs. Note the detail in the scales on the face! The arms of the lizard have lightning etched into the clay. All the various colors are derived from natural clay slips. It is signed “JM” and it is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
