This jar is a striking jar Frederica Antonio. Each piece is coil built and then finely painted. Her designs are a series of fine vertical and horizontal lines that are then filled in to create larger images in the squares.  This jar has a round shape with a short neck with a slightly turned out rim. The neck of the jar has four different colors used to create the cloud and rain patterns.  Interestingly, she has to paint all the squares first, then go back and add the color and THEN paint over them again with the black bee-weed!   The result is a very time-consuming process.  The rain imagery flows through the clouds, almost like looking at them from a distance. The body of the jar has elongated lightning designs that extend from the neck to the base.  The larger black-and-white areas have four different designs.  There are lightning, cloud, and rain designs.  The jar is signed on the bottom, “F. Antonio”.
