John Aragon is known for his use of Mimbres imagery on his pottery.  This is one of his larger open bowls.  Inside the bowl, it is fully painted with over 37 Mimbres fish, turtles, lizards, insects and more.  It is a very compicated and varied piece.  The overall appearance is one of both ancient and modern.  The outside of the bowl has a rain cloud and fine-line designs.  The bowl was made in 1986.  Today, John makes very little pottery but his pieces have their own distinctive style.  The piece is signed on the bottom, “John F. Aragon”.  It in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
