Gregorita Atencio began making pottery in the 1940s.  She was not part of the “original seven” but quickly followed in their style. This piece is from the 1960s and it is incised with design.  The clouds and feathers are incised into the clay.  They are slipped with white and red clay. The snake is in relief on the top of the plate.  The back is fully polished red.  It is signed on the back in the clay, “Gregorita Atencio”. The plate is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
