This is a complex large plate by Blue Corn.  She was certainly one of the most creative potters of her time, using a variety of clays and firing techniques to create her distinctive pottery. This large plate is fully polished on the front and the back.  Around the rim are a painted avanyu, cloud, and rain designs.  There is a second row of feather, cloud,mesa, and hatchure lines.  It is an interesting piece that combines twelve different designs!  The plate was fired to a silvery black coloration.  It is signed in the clay, “Blue Corn”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
