Blue Corn was one of the great innovative San Ildefonso potters of the late 1900s.  This is an early jar that is fully polished red.  There are 64 tightly painted feathers around the top of the shoulder.  Around the shoulder are kiva step and bird wing patterns.  The bottom is matte.  The piece was fired a deep red coloration.  It is signed, “Blue Corn”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
