Dunlap, Jeannie Mountain Flower – Long Neck Jar with Feather and Cloud Designs

Jeannie Mountain Flower Dunlap (b. 1953) is a daughter of Carmelita Dunlap and a grandaughter of Juanita Montoya Vigil, the youngest sister of Maria Martinez.  She is a sister to Linda Dunlap, Cynthia Dunlap, Carlos Dunlap, and Martha Appleaf Fender.   This jar is coil-built, painted, and fired black.  The jar has a sharp shoulder and elongated neck.  The top of the shoulder has a feather pattern with clouds at the rim.  Below the shoulder are flowing clouds and rain designs.  It is a complex and creatively painted jar.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Mountain Flower Dunlap”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
