9"w x 5"h

$ 275.00

Anthony Duran (1956-2009) was one of the few potters from Picuris Pueblo.  He was known for his use of micaceous clay and traditional shapes. This piece is coil-built and has a round shape with a turned-out rim. The jar also has handles on each side.  The piece was traditionally fired to create blushes on the surface.  It is a striking piece of micaceous pottery!  It is signed on the bottom, “AD”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
