Anthony Duran (1956-2009) was one of the few potters from Picuris Pueblo. He was known for his use of micaceous clay and traditional shapes. This piece is coil-built and has a carved terrace rim. The form is called a “cloud bowl”. It was traditionally fired to create the coloration on the surface. It is signed on the bottom, “AD”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.

This piece is coil-built and has a round shape with a turned-out rim. The jar also has handles on each side. The piece was traditionally fired to create blushes on the surface. It is a striking piece of micaceous pottery! It is signed on the bottom, “AD”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
