Felicita Herrera Eustace (1927-2016) was the daughter of Domingita and Nestor Herrera of Cochiti Pueblo, but raised by  Laurencita Herrera.  She was married to Ben Eustace (1924-2007), Zuni.  Felicita learned to make pottery from Juanita Cordero Aquero (who also taught Helen Cordero).  Felicita made her first piece of pottery in 1986.  This is a clay horse and rider. It is made with native clay, slipped white, and then painted with wild spinach (black) and clay slips.  It is a charming piece!  The figure is signed on the bottom, ‘Felicita Eustace”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
