Effie Garcia is known for her deeply carved pottery.  Each piece is coil-built, carved, stone polished, and traditionally fired. This bowl has eight deeply carved melon panels.  Each one extends from the rim to the base. They are each highly polished.   Note the depth of the carving and how she has outlined the design with the clay for emphasis.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Effie Garcia”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
