Glenn Gomez (b. 1954) is a traditional potter from Taos Pueblo. His mother was Cordi Gomez of Pojoaque Pueblo. When he married, he moved to Taos, which is his wife’s pueblo. This bowl has a low shoulder and a carved rim. It is made with micaceous clay and slipped with mica. The bowl was traditionally fired to get the black coloration. The surface color ranges from black to silvery-gunmetal. It is signed on the bottom, “Glenn Gomez”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
