6"w x 3.75"h

$ 775.00

Rose Gonzales is often considered the first at San Ildefonso Pueblo to make carved pottery. However, over the course of her career, she created a variety of styles including plainware, painted, and carved pottery.  This bowl is one of her classic shapes and designs.  It has a round form and it is carved in her classic “cameo style”. There are alternating traditional step design clouds and more rounded clouds.  The bowl was fired to a gunmetal coloration.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Rose”.  It is in very good condition with no crack, restoration or repair.
