Tse-Pe Gonzales was a son of noted potter Rose Gonzales.  This is a very large plate. It is carved on the front with four heartline bears.  Each bear has an inset piece of turquoise for the eye.  Each bear is separated by a large prayer feather design.  The center has a band of hei-shi beads and a beaded rosette.  The area surrounding the bears is deeply incised and contrasting in color to the bears and prayer feathers.  The plate is signed on the back with Tse-Pe’s hallmark, “TP”. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
