Tse-Pe Gonzales was a son of noted potter Rose Gonzales. This jar is from the late 1980s. It is coil-built with a round shoulder and elongated neck. The body of the jar has an avanyu etched into the clay. There is a single inset piece of shell bead for the eye. There is a turquoise bead in the design for the sky. The remainder is fully polished, and the jar was fired black. The rim was two-toned sienna. The jar is signed on the bottom with Tse-Pe’s hallmark, “TP”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
