Tse-Pe Gonzales was a son of noted potter Rose Gonzales.  This large jar has a round body and an elongated neck.  The body of the jar is slipped with mica. The front section of the jar is stone polished.  There is an etched Pueblo Figure and a stylized bird.  The jar was fired black and then the design was two-toned black-and-green and black-and-sienna.  The back side has an attached piece of turquoise inset in silver.  The piece is a striking use of shape, texture, color, and design.  It is signed on the bottom with Tse-Pe’s hallmark “TP”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
