This is one of the few lidded pieces we have had by Margaret and Luther Gutierrez.  Typically Margaret would have made the piece and Luther, her brother, would have painted the surface with various colors of clay slip. The bowl is round and has four panels of design.  There are two avanyu and two hunters.  They are surrounded by rain and cloud designs. The lid sits on the top and is a Koshari figure.  Both the lid and the bowl were traditionally fired.  The piece is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom, “Margaret/Luther”.
