Teresa Gutierrez is known for her deep-carved pottery with complex designs. This bowl is coil-built and deeply carved. The design features three stylized eagles. They are each carved into the clay, and then the bowl is stone-polished. The designs are outlined with matte clay before the piece is traditionally fired a deep black.  The bowl is signed “Teresa Gutierrez” on the bottom.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
