This is one of the few plates we have had by Johnathan Naranjo.  The front of the plate is fully polished, and the back is matte.  It was traditionally fired a dark brown coloraiton. The plate has a realistic Blue Jay as the design.  The rim of the plate is etched with flower and plant designs.  Note the style of Johnathan’s etching where the light red matte areas are only lightly etched into the surface. This is a difficult technique to master but one which has become a trademark of Johanthan’s intricate and realistic style.  As well, the flat plate surface is a great way for Johnathan to showcase the detail of his etched designs. It’s these little details that certainly make his work so distinctive and exciting!  It is signed on the back.  The plate is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
