This is a creative water jar by Johnathan Naranjo.  The jar has a round body and elongated neck.  The entire piece is fully polished.  The jar is fully polished and then fired to a brown coloration.  It is etched with four realistic hummingbirds and very detailed flowers. Each of the four hummingbirds is in a different position and note the detail on the wings and feathers!  In the background is a lightly etched geometric cloud design.  The light red matte areas are where Johnathan has only lightly etched into the surface of the jar.  This is a difficult technique to master, but it has become a trademark of Johanthan’s intricate and realistic style.  Johnathan pays great attention to the details in his pottery.  It’s these little details that certainly make his work so distinctive and exciting!  It is signed on the bottom, “Johnathan Naranjo 2022”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
