This is an intricate seedpot by Johnathan Naranjo.  The piece is round, fully polished, and fired brown. The seedpot has three red-tail foxes as the design.  They are depicted at night and one is walking between trees under the stars.  The first fox is looking back at the second fox, who is turned to look at the viewer. The third fox is sitting, looking at the stars!  The detail on each fox is exceptional!  However, take a closer look at the trees. They are etched with extraordinary realism.  It’s always amazing what Johnathan is able to create by just etching into the clay surface.  The light red matte areas are where Johnathan has only lightly etched into the surface of the jar.  This is a difficult technique to master but one that has become a trademark of Johanthan’s intricate and realistic style.  Johnathan pays great attention to the details in his pottery.  It’s these little details that certainly make his work so distinctive and exciting!  It is signed on the bottom.  The jar is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
