Kevin Naranjo is known for his realistic etched pottery.  This open bowl is coil-built, stone-polished, and fully etched with design.  The outer rim is etched with feathers, two avanyu, and mountains.  The rim was two-toned sienna.  The center of the bowl is more fully designed with a realistic bear, eagle, and wolf!  In the background is a raincloud and also bear paws.  Did you notice the roses? They represent the traditional name of Santa Clara, which is Kahpo O’wingeh, or Wild Roses.  The contrast of the realism and traditional designs works perfectly on this bowl. The bottom has additional bear tracks.  It is signed, “Kevin Naranjo”.
