Charmae Natseway is known for her exceptional painted pottery and the use of distinctive forms. This jar has four flat sides.  Each is painted with a different design.  There are two multi-color Mimbres lizards, the next has a fineline design with a hand medallion. The third side has mountain designs with a red sky.  The fourth has snow and geometric designs.  The lid is also four-sided and painted black.  It is a creative and interesting series of designs.  It is signed on the bottom, “Charmae Natseway”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.

Charmae Natseway learned to make pottery from her mother, Ethel Shields. While she began making more traditional vessels, her work has evolved to more non-conventional shapes for her "seedpots" over the past decade. She is one of the few potters who can create unique forms and flat surfaces. Charmae has won numerous awards for pottery at Santa Fe Indian Market and other events. Her work is a striking blend of contemporary and traditional designs.
