$ 750.00

Charmae Natseway is known for her exceptional painted pottery and the use of distinctive forms. This wonderful seedpot has three flat sides and a flat sloping top.  Two of the sides are painted with an Acoma bird. The birds are very colorful with various clay slips.  The back of the jar has a triangular checkerboard pattern which then extends up to the top.  The lid replicates the same triangular design as on the geometric part of the jar.  The entire piece is very tightly painted. The lid fits perfectly into the top of the piece.  All the various colors are from natural clay slips.  The piece is signed on the bottom, “Charmae Natseway”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is a striking balance of traditional and historic imagery in a very modern form.
