Tobie Mae (b. 2005) is a 19-year-old daughter of noted potter Robert Patricio. This larger jar is coil-built from native clay and thin-walled. It has a classic Acoma water jar shape and a high shoulder and short neck. The jar is painted with bee-weed and clay slips. The jar has a mountain design painted in red. There are swirling rainbirds along with very intricately painted flowers. Note all the THIN lines!! It is a visually striking design and one of the larger pieces we have had by Tobie Mae. The jar is signed, “T.M. Patricio”. It is exciting to see such excellent work by young Acoma potters!
