Jordan Roller is innovative in his use of thin carved designs on his pottery.  This jar combines a unique color combination along with the complex carving. The jar is entitled “Bird in a Storm”.  There is a bird carved in one section. The remainder are clouds, rain, and lightning designs. The jar is highly polished and fired a brownish-black coloration.  Take a moment to look closely at the designs and the intricate carving.  There is such small space between some of the carved areas that Jordan says he uses just a folded piece of sandpaper to “carve” the lines.  It is signed on the bottom, “Jordan Roller”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
