This is a traditional jar by Jordan Roller.  It is coil-built, carved and stone polished.  The carving on the jar is the thin line style that Jordan has created for his pottery. The lines are very thin, and he often carves using just a single piece of folded sandpaper into the clay!  The design is an interlocking kiva step, rain and lightning pattern. The flow of the design creates a very modernistic appearance to the surface.  The jar is highly polished and it has been traditionally fired outdoors a brownish coloration.  The color is deep and very striking in this piece.  One of the interesting parts of this type of firing is that it changes each time!  The jar is signed, “Jordan Roller”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
