This is a classic bowl by Clara Gutierrez Stone (1920-2017). She was known for her traditional carved pottery. This bowl has an avanyu carved into the clay. Note the shape of the eye and the rounded edges of her carving, which are indicative of her pottery. The bowl is fully polished, including the inside! It was fired a dark black coloration. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Clara”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
