Candelaria Suazo is a daughter of potters Joe and Santanita Suazo. Her sisters include Martha Suazo (the wife of Art Cody Haungooah), Margie Naranjo, Mae Tapia, and Shirley Duran. She learned to make pottery from her mother. This small jar is coil-built, stone polished, fired, and then fully designed. There is a butterfly on one side and a hummingbird on the other. Each is two-toned sienna after the firing. It is signed on the bottom, “Candelaria Suazo”.
