Jeff Suina works in clay and mutli-media.  This bowl is coil-built, slipped with white clay, painted with bee-weed, and traditionally fired.  The bowl has traditional designs but a modernist style.  This bowl has an asymmetric opening.  There are clouds around the rim. The design on the side is a stylized series of interlocking hummingbirds.  The bowl was traditionally outdoor fired, so there are slight color variations on the surface.  One thing you can’t see, but can feel, is how smooth Jeff sanded and polished the surface.  It has a suede-like feel!  The piece is signed, “Jeff Suina”.
