Emily Tafoya was the wife of noted potter Ray Tafoya and is the mother of Jennifer Tafoya.  Each piece is coil built, stone polished, traditionally outdoor fired, and then etched with designs.  This seed jar is fully polished green and then etched with Mimbres insects. There is a dragonfly, 2 ladybugs, and a bee.  They are etched into the clay and then highlighted with additional clay slips for more coloration.  There is also a small micaceous area around the neck which is designed like a prayer cloud.  It is signed on the bottom, Emily Tafoya.
