Emily Tafoya was the wife of noted potter Ray Tafoya and is the mother of Jennifer Tafoya.  Each piece is coil built, stone polished, traditionally outdoor fired, and then etched with designs.  This seed jar is fully polished and fired black.  There are three bears, butterflies, and flowers.  The designs are all etched into the clay and then highlighted with additional clay slips for more coloration.  The jar has a bear lid with a heartline.  It is signed on the bottom, Emily Tafoya.
